Quidditch Rules
From Magical Hogwarts Wiki
Quidditch matches are an important part of canon. The Quidditch season not only lasts throughout the school term, offering entertainment to both the students and the Professors, but it plays a vital role in the house cup. It is often that the house winning the inter-house Quidditch cup is the house winning the house cup.

Basics
Each house will present a team with a total of seven players; 1 keeper, 1 seeker, 2 beaters and 3 chasers. There is no limit on the number of reserve players a team may have. Quidditch team try-outs begin the second week of term and the first games are played in the first week of November.
Quidditch Captains are chosen by Hogwarts staff and are responsible for assembling the team and in charge of house practice sessions. Each team will be required to hold monthly practices and have seven active team members.
There will be two games each playtime month, started near the beginning of the month. Teams will then have three realtime weeks to complete the games. When playtime changes and the next set of games started, the prior month's games will be closed for voting.
Each game will have two threads, the [GAME] thread and the [STANDS] thread. Only team members and the referee (or other admins) may post in the [GAME] thread. All students and spectators are to post in the [STANDS] thread. If someone not on the team posts in the [GAME] thread, that person will be given a detention and, should they be in one of the two houses playing the game, the opposing team will be awarded a penalty shot.
Scoring
Teams may score points IC by scoring goals (throwing the Quaffle through one of three hoops on the opposing team's side of the feild), worth 10 points or by catching the snitch, worth 150 points.
Penalties
Each time a character or a driver violates Magical Hogwarts or Quidditch rules, it is noted by the referee. If one person breaks two rules or one team breaks five rules, the opposing team will be awarded a penalty shot, worth 10 points. The only exception to this is god-moding, this is an automatic penalty shot for the opposing team.
Penalty shots are not role-played.
Posting
The first team to post in a game starts game play. The game is played in rounds of two, meaning each team has two posts before it's the other team's turn. However, if three days has passed then that team forfeits it's turn and the other team may post. For example: If Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are playing the game should look like this: HH, RR, HH, RR -- But if Ravenclaw last posted on the 3rd and it is now the 7th, Hufflepuff may continue posting. It would then look like this: HH, RR, HH, HH. Three full days must have passed, meaning, if I add the number three to whatever date the last post is on, you have to wait one more day. (14th + 3 = 17th, you can post on the 18th).
Bludgers
Only beaters may hit the bludger. Beaters must be specific about to whom or what location they are hitting the bludger during their post. If a bludger is fired at someone on the opposite team and that person does not post in the next round for their team, they have been hit and are knocked out of the game.
Quaffles
Only chasers and the keeper may handle the quaffle. Chasers must state where they are throwing the quaffle during their post (e.g. to another teammate or towards the hoops to score a goal). If a chaser throws towards the hoops and the keeper does not post, the goal is scored. If the keeper posts, but posts either a god-mody post or a one to four sentence post, the goal is scored. If the keeper posts well, the goal was saved.
Snitch
Only the seeker may handle the snitch. After 10 posts made by either team (not including the starting post or any post made by the referee or admins) the seekers may spot the snitch. They may not catch it however until the third round after seeing the snitch. Example: Ravenclaw sees the snitch and can catch the snitch in the underlined: RR, HH, RR, HH, RR, HH, RR.
Both seekers should post as if they have caught the snitch for voting purposes. Once both seeker posts are made, the game is over and closed for voting.
Voting
When closed the administration team will once again read over the entire thread and vote on several things. Best seeker post and best team performance. The seeker with the best post will catch the snitch and earn their team 150 points. Best team performance will earn additional points, anywhere from 10 to 30 points. Each post made by a team is 10 points. Including any goals or penalties scored during the game, this will all be combined to reach the final score. The team with the highest score wins the game.
All team scores are added to that house's house cup points. So if Gryffindor has a score of 430 points, that is added to their hourglass. (Hogwarts & Beauxbatons only)
