April Fools' Day 2005

The first of many on MH. On the morning of April 1st, 2005, Web Mistress Julie, along with members Spoog, Tye and Alyssa worked together to create a prank that would take the entire board by surprise. Julie posted an announcement, informing everyone that the entire administration had become fed up with the incompetence of the board, and that Spoog kindly volunteered to take Julie's place as Main Admin.

He promptly appointed Tye and Alyssa as his underlings. Most members expressed disappointment at the sudden leave of the Administration, but did not hesitate to hail replacements. (Although, half of them questioned their reliability to Julie via PM or MSN.)

Julie, who only remained for 'old Times sake' as an innocent bystander, suggested that Spoog should become Spoogyne (Spoog + Justyne). Spoogyne did not like Julie's presence, and saw fit to ban her. This took most of the board by surprise, who became more vocal about Julie's choice in successors. Spoogyne would take none of this, and banned all that opposed it for as long as it was in power (meaning their accounts were restored by the next day.

On this day, Spoogyne, Tye and Alyssa's crimes were:

  • Closing down the Avatars & Signatures board
  • Bad mouthing the old Administration
  • Banning Julie, Jayme and many more
  • Threatening to turn the board into an 'Advanced Pokemon Roleplaying Community'
  • Appointing anyone who asked as Global Moderators

By the end of the day, many members, whose doubts about it being one big joke now gone, threatened to leave the board forever. Julie felt that then was an appropriate time to come clean. She came back, unbanned, and confessed:

"Hello everyone, spoog taking ove the administration was of course an Aprils fools joke. All of the current staff are staying.. and of course any posts and resolutions of the new administration were comeplete and utter nonsense. I do hope that you had a good laugh out ot it.
Happy April..."

April Fools' Day 2006

On this day, MH celebrated in a truly unique way. Member display names and membergroups were changed at random, and whatever character you had been switched with, you were allowed to play that character until Midnight. After, that, everything was returned to normal and would continue.

Thankfully, a thread has been saved and can be found here. It is where those who were switched got to play the characters they were switched with. Also, below you will find a full list of characters that were switched.

April Fools' Day 2007

On this day, a most wonderous, yet unusual announcement was made. The ban on cross-over characters would be lifted, for what seemed like, forever. Julie, who was the one to make the announcement, promptly encouraged members to create their own crossovers by making an account under the name of Jareth the Goblin King. Mark Rose promptly changed his account name to J.K Rowling and made a shipper introducing 'herself.'

The new characters were not to be confined in the OOC section, however, they were welcome to make threads with original characters. Jareth in particular, loved doing so.

Jareth's threads

  1. Staring At A Black Cat
  2. Nothing? NOTHING, tra la la?
  3. It's A Kind Of Magic

Jo's threads

  1. Jo's quest

The new characters were not the only thing MH had to worry about... Julie and Jayme decided to add a little bit of drama to the otherwise comedic day. They pretended to have an actual falling out. Where Jayme quit and left, not before telling everyone what she 'really' thought about them. A cat-fight between the two most influental members on the board began, and many members found themselves taking sides... either that or trying to end the whole thing before it got too ugly.

At the end of the day, Jareth and Jo were no more. Julie and Jayme would be friends again, and Jayme would apologise to the rest of the board, and hand out free <33's to those involved.

April Fools' Day 2008

On this day, havoc ensued as multitudes of users found their membergroups changed. (lalala under construction)
