Error Reports
« on: April 02, 2004, 10:54:29 PM »
You may report any TECHNICAL issues here ;)

- I realize you may run into errors on MH - and encourage you to report them. However, when you're reporting an error, please explain exactly what you're getting otherwise I can't help you fix it. Saying, "I can't delete messages" or something is ambiguous. Do you mean a post? PM? What? Instead, explain exactly what you get. For example, "I can't delete PMs; my page keeps timing out" would be much more helpful to me to figure out what your particular error is, and it'll help me fix things faster.

- If MH gives you an error message please copy the full error message in here. I know most errors the board throws and why. You cut down the time I spend on your case immensely by doing so.

- If something does not display correctly (which will usually be a problem at your end) please provide a screenshot. Don't make me guess what's wrong from a one line description.

- It won't send, won't delete, won't accept my password. If you encounter either of these problems please do the following.

-- close all MH windows
-- clean your cache
-- clean out saved passwords and form information
-- come back, if the problem persists you can report it.

and don't use IE that product of satan. Firefox is a perfectly fine browser.

Everyone's avatars (except for Akim's) have one of those little scrollie-bars beneath them, but none of them are too big. >_<

That's only on your computer. Doesn't happen for anyone else. Using any zoom settings?

I think you might have done something to firefox settings. I will try it out on the mac in the house later. It's probably the zoom.

In windows the menu is View, Zoom. What you prolly want to check is "zoom text only".

May be called differently on the mac.

I'mmmm actually getting a weird bug, IDK if it's a caching issue on my part or what but I have a delay on the index where the most recent posts are. What I mean is, sometimes (usually in the evening around midnight my time) I'll post somewhere, but it takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes to show on the front page's most recent posts section. (Despite refreshing etc. I don't have to clean my cache for it to fix either - it shows up eventually.)

I'm running Google Chrome, Windows 7 and I'm on Daphne's theme if that helps, but I think it was doing it on default too. I'd provide screenshots but it's really unpredictable and doesn't do it all the time.

o_o;

1600x900 resolution if that impacts :X

Problem on our end with caching. I'll look into it.

I am having problems when editing my posts.
I first came across this at the computer my mother has, but didn't care much because I'm rarely there and have my own computer.
the problem i that when I try to modify a longer post it just keeps... bumping around.
If I try to edit something I need to scroll down to edit that's when it happens. I click down low and when I'm typing the message window scrolls up.
The text appears, but I can't see it when I'm not typing further up.
This sounds so stupid, I'll try to explain it better if needed to.

Anyways,
today I got my new laptop with windows seven and I use internet explorer. I used internet explorer on my old laptop but had windows vista.
And, now that problem appeared on my new laptop. It wasn't on my old one. But it was on my mother's (where I also used internet explorer)
I hope you can understand what exactly my problem is... It feels so messy and odd...

It's your IE. It does the same thing on my computer... If it's the new one, what you do is click the little button by the refresh. The one that looks like a torn sheet of paper. It's called "compatibility view" or something like that. It should fix the problem. If it's older, it may be something else. I can screen shot you what it looks like when I get on my desktop at home if you want.

Stupid IE. It worked for me before... D:
And I don't seem to have a torn sheet thingy. But I'll look for a compability view like thing.

It's right next to the refresh button :)
